SHS approach to Origins aims to better understand the epistemological and societal ruptures produced by research on the formation of planets and the origins of life. The humanities and social sciences provide reflectivity on the construction of an interdisciplinary knowledge on life and its impact on contemporary societies. By learning more about the place of humans in the universe and in the kingdom of life, the field of astrobiology contributes to the emergence of a new humanism. In order to understand this change of perspective on the conditions of life on Earth, this project is structured around 3 research axes.
1) Origins of life: cultural representations and interdisciplinary definitions
2) Contributions of mineralogy and cosmochemistry to astrobiology research
3) Communication and normative framework around the origin of life
